Hereafter

Once
In my arms
I held you there
by the river
and encouraged you
to tell me your dreams
It was inevitable-
 like a river
that flows out to sea
you were gone
A shadow of a memory
However-I find solace in the fact
that once I knew you
and felt your warmth
Whilst I held you
in my arms
